Rui Shi

My general research expertise is in plant biotechnology, including: gene idenficiation, gene cloning, gene plant expression vector design and construction, plant transformation. As well as biotechniques, including: small RNA detection, real time RT-PCR, chromosome microdissection. My specific research involvement for this NSF project involves designing and preparing artificial microRNA construct for gene silencing, and charactraization of PAL gene family. I will also oversee real time RT-PCR analysis for all transgenic trees.
